A bit about me

Andrea Pergel is an industrial designer and maker, recently graduated from Carleton University. She approaches every project by getting the full picture first — understanding who it's for, the context it lives in, and what's really being asked — before committing to a direction. That instinct to question assumptions before proposing solutions shapes how she works: hands-on from the start, building and testing early, treating prototypes as questions rather than answers.

She holds ideas loosely. She stays attentive to feedback throughout a project and is willing to change direction — or let a path go entirely — when the work points that way. She sees that openness as part of what keeps design grounded in what actually matters.

She's also drawn to thinking in systems — curious about how an individual object or interaction sits within a broader context of behavior, habit, and need. That analytical thread runs through her work alongside the making, balancing exploration with careful observation.

Outside the studio, Andrea has played tennis for most of her life, fostering a mindset of continual practice and refinement. She also paints and draws — where her creative instincts first took root.

Looking ahead, she hopes to find work where curiosity and rigor are both welcome.
