Organising by frequency and type
Ideation explored a wide range of organiser formats — from tiered trays to rotating towers. The key insight was to organise by frequency of use: the most-used items (brushes, daily palettes) at the top and front, less-used items in a drawer below.
Cardboard mockups were used to test scale and proportion quickly — making sure the footprint was genuinely desk-friendly and that the height felt accessible rather than imposing. The retractable mirror emerged as a critical feature to avoid the need for a separate mirror cluttering the desk.

Colour & Context
CMF
The colour, material, and finish keeps things light and considered. The body is laser-cut plywood finished with water-based airbrush paint in soft pastel colourways — blue, cream, and pink. Wood was a deliberate choice over plastic: it reads more like furniture than a beauty product, integrating naturally with the shelves, desks, and frames typical of a dorm room. The warm, tactile finish also feels more personal than the generic plastic of most organisers on the market. Clear acrylic tubes hold brushes and smaller products upright while keeping everything visible at a glance. Mirror vinyl on the retractable panel means no separate mirror needed on the desk.
